LifeSwitch Rules & Regulations

Rules, Regulations, and Suggestions provided to help you get the most out of this experience

The DUI/Risk Reduction Course (hereafter referred to as “the course”) is a state-mandated 20 hour class. All participants are required to be present for the entire 20 hours, no exceptions. At LifeSwitch Driving Academy the course covers three successive days, Friday 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. There are scheduled breaks during class and a one-hour lunch break on Saturday and Sunday between 1 pm and 2:00 pm. At the end of the class on Sunday you will be given your certificate provided you have been present for all portions of the instruction and haven’t had behavioral issues that disrupted the class.

All students must complete a Needs Assessment prior to attending class. Once you have paid your fees, the assessment can be taken online or at our offices. There will not be an opportunity to take the assessment in the two hours prior to the start of the first day of class. Please make arrangements to fulfill this requirement at least a day or two prior to your course start day.

The total cost of the program is $360.00 and consists of the assessment ($100), the 20 hour course ($235) and your Prime for Life workbook ($25). The cost of the course is determined by the state and discounts or offsets are strictly against the law.

The state requires a minimum of five paid students for each course. If on the odd chance we have not met this minimum you will be contacted and put on the roster for the next class coming up.

Students cannot be late. This is mandated by the state. The doors will be locked at the start of class and being tardy could result in having to restart the course and making a second payment. Please be 15 minutes early.

Coffee and water are complimentary during your participation. Soft drinks are available for the nominal charge of $1.00/ea. We have a refrigerator and freezer on site if you would like to bring your lunch or snacks. There are several restaurants and fast-food places within a mile from the LifeSwitch facilities.

Your participation is required in the classroom discussions and activities.  Students are expected to be alert and paying attention during class. Regardless of your preliminary thoughts about what the class and the curriculum will be like, our goal is to convey the information to you in a fun and interesting way. If you tell yourself that you will be bored and not learn anything, that belief will come true.  Your attitude and open-mindedness for learning are the key components to making this experience enriching and enjoyable.

Cell Phones must be off (or on silent) and put away during class time.  You are free to use them however during breaks.

While there is no smoking or vaping during class, there is a designated smoking area for your use during breaks.

We try to keep the temperature in the classroom comfortable for everyone but bring a jacket if you tend to be cold-natured.

LifeSwitch Driving Academy is here to serve you and we will do what we can within the limits of the law to help you. Please reach out to us with questions prior to class, or pull us aside during a break if there is something we can do to make the experience more informative and enjoyable.
