The $95 course may earn you up to 7 pts off your MVR, and is required for license reinstatements and when ordered by a court. The course can also be taken for personal growth and to reduce your liability insurance premium 10%. Check with your carrier prior to class. .

DUI Risk Reduction Course
The DUI School – Risk Reduction Program is a 20 hour required course for
DUI offenders and for other offenses as a court may require. It is designed to assess high-risk behaviors and help students find new and healthy ways to engage in low-risk behaviors. DUI School is held Fridays 5 pm - 9 pm and Sat/Sun 9 AM to 6 PM with a one hour break each day. Defensive Driving
The GA Driver Improvement Course (Defensive Driving) is a six-hour course with a one hour break (seven hours). It is designed to teach drivers about safe driving attitudes and behaviors. Georgia drivers who complete the Course may receive up to a
seven-point reduction off their MVR. One can also sign up strictly for Insurance premium reduction (verify with your insurance company)
Alcohol & Drug Evaluations
Anyone in Georgia with a DUI must have a Clinical Alcohol & Drug Evaluation administered for license reinstatement. The evaluation may also be required by a court or probation for other violations. It is important to know that the courts and DDS will only accept evaluations done by counselors trained and certified by DBHDD. You can verify on DBHDD website.
What is GA's DUI "Less Safe" Law?
Georgia now has the DUI "Less Safe Law" which means that drivers can be charged with DUI even when they are below the legal limit of Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of .08. All that is required is that the officer believes you are intoxicated and due to that intoxication you are driving "less safe" as a result. For the most part, "Less-Safe" carries the same penalties as any other DUI.
